During my stay in Sweden we popped by to do some recording with Project TRAP.
It was time for Jessica to stumble in and do her magic on the songs.

It turned out really great and Mikael is now working with the first production of the edited version for the first single, hopefully the release for this song will be in August this year.

From left to right: Jessica, Anders (Vocals), Mikael (Producer, mixerman) and Peter (Guitars).

During the weekend I went to see another band that I had heard of, but never seen LIVE. So me and the drummer of Formalin went to see Gush!

They sounded very good and the concert was absolutely great.
I hope to see more of this band in the future.

*** We are heading for Art Performance Productions 5 year anniversary, more info about this will follow.

*** Thomaz is in Sweden for recordings of his new CD. We have no date set for the release yet. More info of this will follow later.

*** We had a PRAO student from Sweden, named Fredrik, here at Art Performance Production for two weeks, (PRAO is practical work experience for 14-15 year olds in Sweden).
He did a very good job and met two of our artists, Thomaz and Alex Jonsson, keyboard player from Maze of Time. Picture is from our meeting with Alex at a bar in Amsterdam.

This picture was taken before we met up with Thomaz.
We see Fredrik and Merrick, the Co-owner of Art Performance Production.

First light of blog!

InfoPosted by Art Performance Production Mon, November 03, 2008 15:37:06

So, it is now time for Art Performance Production to start the Blog over what is happening in the company and with our artists.
Let me first name the artists we have in the company and just a little bit about them.

Thomaz was the first to release under the newly formed Art Performance Production label in September 2006 with his first CD-single called "Stjärna på himmelen".
It is a very interesting version of a Swedish "Schlager" song with an even more interesting B-side called "Djävulens änglar". A very good CD-single indeed.

Thomaz was also the first to release a full length CD on the company.
This happened in November 2006 with the CD "If I Ever Die". A CD filled with songs about death and thoughts around it. An interesting subject.

Maze of time released their debut CD “Tales from the maze” in also in November and it turned out to be the biggest seller from Art Performance Production. It got some extremely good reviews and sold very well in USA, Germany and Sweden.

In 2007 we decided to release only Swedish CDs, starting with Formalin CD-EP “Smisk med liten EP” in March. It had 4 songs which was re-recorded from their debut CD in 2002 “Lekar i betong” (sold out).

Roger Karlsson, one of Sweden's better rock artists released a compilation CD on Art Performance in August. It was recordings made in 1998 and 2002 that had never seen the light on an official CD before which now had been remastered and released. It too got some good reviews and has sold quite good.

Formalin “Frihet är att vara lagom bakfull”, the full length CD and follow up to their debut was released in October. It was a nightmarish production but turned out very well.

2008 started off very slowly but in May, Harvest of the Innocence released the CD debut. It came in 2 different versions, one official and one unofficial release. The unofficial release was only printed in 10 copies and is sold out. The difference between the two are one of the songs.

In October Caisedo finally made his debut release. “Restless soul”is a combination of Dance and Club. It is a very good album and we are still working with the marketing around it, so much more cannot be told about it yet.

Which leaves us here today!

Coming up from Art Performance Production is the all new Maze of time CD “Lullaby for heroes”, which will be released 3rd of December this year.
Yesterday, or actually, early this morning, I got the last of the songs and listened to the full album in one go. It is really good, and the guys have managed to top the previous album by far.
There is a free peak video on youtube from Lullaby for heroes pt2 and you can also download this part for free at our homepage.

Also coming is Project TRAP, which is going to have the vocals recorded in December this year and hopefully release before summer 2009. All of the songs on that album has been written by Caisedo and co-written by the other guys in the band. Vocals and vocal melodies has been written by Anders Moberg. More info coming.

The JP-Rosengren CD is also in the studio in the hands of Mikael Lundin, Art Performance Productions long-time companion to be mixed and produced and hopefully released in early 2009.

Web Construction and Harvest of the Innocence will both be in the studio in spring 2009 for their CD releases. For Web Construction it is the debut, and for Harvest of the Innocence it is the new Solitude CD.

We are still waiting for information and recordings from Grand 60 who will be releasing their debut in 2009 as well.

All the best!

Johnny Rosengren
